Q: What is the minimum number of nights required to reserve a retreat at The Harbor Star?
A: A minimum of two (2) nights per person is required to book a retreat at The Harbor Star.

Q: What is the minimum number of overnight guests to reserve a retreat at The Harbor Star?
A: The Harbor Star requires a minimum of four (4) paid guests.

Q: What is the maximum number of guests that The Harbor Star can accomodate?
A: The Harbor Star can accomodate eight (8) overnight guests.

Q: When is the balance due?
A: The balance of the reservation is due 30 days prior to the arrival date. If the reservation is made within 30 days, the balance is due upon the reservation.

Q: What if I have to cancel? Do I get a refund?
A: There are situations that occur that cannot be controlled. Please notify The Harbor Star as soon as possible with a cancellation and a full refund (minus the non-refundable deposit) will be refunded or transferred to another open date. Please be considerate to other members of the group. Your balance can also be transferred to another person if you cannot attend.

Q: What if there are 2 people who cannot stay the second night but there are 2 different people who can stay the second night?
A: As long as the minimum number of guests have reserved the minimum two (2) nights, it does not matter. On night one, Mary, Carol, Jane, Karen, Linda and Debbie stay and on the second night Mary, Carol, Jane, Lori, Jenny and Maggie stay the second night. There are the 4 minimum guests staying the minimum required nights.

Q: Is a deposit required?
A: Yes, a $25.00 per person deposit is required. This $25.00 deposit is not refundable.

Q: What if there is bad weather?
A: The Harbor Star does not want anyone to put themselves in danger. If we know of a weather situation, The Harbor Star will take into consideration any weather emergency. Likewise, I would rather you stay an extra night than risk a drive home.

Q: How do I get to The Harbor Star?
A: East Tawas, MI is located on US 23 on the east side of the State of Michigan on Lake Huron. I will be happy to send you a map and driving directions from your starting location. The Harbor Star is located a few blocks north of US 23.

Q: Are there any events that are scheduled for East Tawas?
A: East Tawas and the surrounding areas of Tawas, Oscoda and Harrisville have scheduled events all year round. Craft shows, antique shows, Holiday events, the list is full. You will find links to area events through the Chamber of Commerce links on the Great Links Page.

Q: How do I make a reservation? Do I have to reserve as a group?
A: Individual reservations are accepted. If a minimum number of guests have not reserved on an individual basis, The Harbor Star will contact you. Q: What payment methods do you accept? Is there a tax?
A: The Harbor Star will accept personal checks, money orders and cashiers checks. Michigan requires a 6% sales tax that is in addition to the rates listed.
